RICOVR Careers

RICOVR team includes experts across medical device design and manufacturing, leadership, sales, medicine, technology, and scientific research to deliver on your needs today and tomorrow.

RICOVR Healthcare is an innovative, early-stage biotech start-up dedicated to revolutionizing Point-of-Care and Home-Health diagnostics. RICOVR Healthcare is a venture backed company that has been awarded grant funding from the NIH, was named in the Top 10 of Technology startups in Princeton 2022, and one of Business Insiders Top 26 startups in 2021. Currently, a gap exists between point-of-care and lab-based diagnostics. While existing point-of-care diagnostic technologies are qualitative, lacking sensitivity and accuracy; clinical lab-based technologies are prohibitively expensive and require trained personnel, large equipment, and time-consuming sample analysis. RICOVR Healthcare aims to fill this gap by achieving the sensitivity, accuracy, and quantification of lab-based machines in a portable and low-cost format that enables true point-of-care application for a wide range of health and diagnostic markers.

RICOVR Healthcare’s platform technology utilizes a novel optic biosensor combined with functionalized plasmonic nanoparticles to enable quantitative immunoassays at the point-of-care. We are at an inflection point in bringing this technology to market and are seeking to expand our scientific team. If you want to be a part of commercializing a new technology at the interface of biology, chemistry, engineering, and healthcare while working with innovative and driven colleagues then you should reach out to us!

As a Senior Scientist at RICOVR Healthcare, you will provide tactical execution on our highest priority initiatives. You will work collaboratively with a diverse team across scientific and engineering disciplines towards launching our first commercial product, including production scale-up and clinical validation studies. You will also be involved in the development of new assays on RICOVR Healthcare’s platform. These responsibilities will require hypothesis driven research, rigorous data collection, adherence to quality and regulatory standards, problem solving to achieve objectives in creative and effective ways, and hands-on lab work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize, design, and carry out experiments following good scientific principles and safe laboratory practices
  • Lead research projects towards development of new biosensor assays
  • Method development to support immunoassay commercialization including test validation, product stability, and clinical studies
  • Implement GLP standards and set-up SOPs with production partners
  • Work cooperatively with other members of the R&D team and across departments to achieve project milestones
  • Communicate results and ideas clearly to a diverse audience
  • Mentor and supervise junior scientists

Qualifications

  • PhD. or M.S. in biochemistry, molecular biology, chemical biology, biomedical engineering, or related discipline. Recent Ph.D.’s are encouraged to apply.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and execute an independent research project
  • 3+ years of experience in immunoassay development such as ELISA, LFA, or SPR design and optimization; past success in assay commercialization is a plus
  • Knowledge and practical experience with protein modification, nanoparticle conjugation, and immunoassay surface biofunctionalization strategies
  • Familiarity with the implementation of proper QA/QC procedures for production of in vitro diagnostics
  • Handling of biological and chemical reagents in an accurate and safe manner
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
  • Utilization of proper statistics and use of a plotting software such as Graphpad Prism, R, Minitab, etc.
